These files contain one entry for each alert that has been executed by the Alert Service. I assume you are familiar with Alert Policies. If so, you will see that every alert that comes by default with the Teradata Manager installation has the default action set to "<Write to log>". It goes back to 9/2005 because that is probably when you installed Teradata Manager? I suggest browsing through one of those files and seeing what alerts are being triggered. Then either correct the issue if it is a true problem or change the thresholds through the Alert Policy Editor so that fewer alerts get triggered. Also, feel free to delete any file but the "latest" one if you don't need the history. For more information, check out the "Teradata Manager User Guide" --> "Ch. 13: Using Alerts to Monitor Your System". Good luck, Jason
