Subj:   TD Manager Node Alerts

All,

I am trying to understand 2 of the Teradata Manager Node Alerts: "Number of Node Host I/Os" and "Number of Node Disk I/Os" This may be more of an academic exercise, I am trying to understand it more to see if there is any business value.

I believe I have the thresholds set appropriately for my site, so when an alert gets triggered, how do I figure out who did what?

Take just "Number of Node Host I/Os", my guess is that I would look at DBC.ResShstGroupView. I believe I have found in there the 10 minute period that triggered the alert. So do I just go look at DBC.LogOnOff to see who was on the system at that time? If so, once I have the list, do I just join it to DBC.AMPUsage to see who had the activity?

But DBC.AMPUsage only has "DiskIO" column? Does this value include Host IO data as well? If not, is there a way to get to Host IO data by user? Or if it does, how would I do Disk vs. Host IO analysis if the alerts were triggered for the same time period?

For reference, I have ResUsage, DBQL, and ASE data collection running. Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

Thank You!
