Hi JimA, I had a similar problem at one of my customers. 1.) You are right, there is no way to handle the hex'00' within the utilities without writing an inmod. 2.) You should check the source file creation process. Are the hex'00' already in the source system or are they created by the extraction process ? 3.) Under Unix you could use the "tr" command and load via a pipe. For Windows there are some shareware Unix-Utilities for Windows around. This may also fix your problem. Christian
