I may have asked this before but I can't remember the response, so please forgive me if you remember the question. What I want to do (or at least my colleague does) is to create a Global Temporary table and use Statistics on the 'invoked instance' from a particular session. For example, in one particular session we might insert 0.5 Million rows into that GTT and use the session table in a subsequent Select statement. But, I want Teradata to be able to reasonably accurately estimate that 0.5 Million rows. What seems to be the case is that you can Collect stats on the GTT definition (giving zeros rows) but once it's materialized you can't then create local stats. Perhaps I just don't know how to use them properly. Can someone put me out of my misery ? _______________________
