I'm only fairly new to Fastload, so there is probably a lot more to this than I know, however... I had this problem earlier this week, and it took me a considerable amount of time (sadly about 6 hours) to figure it out. Of course, it ended up being very easy and very obvious. My definitions were correct, everything was fixed length, the columns matched the table, and I had a carriage return after every row - or at least I thought I did! The fault for me, was that the VERY LAST ROW of data did not have a carriage return. That is, there wasn't a "blank" line at the bottom of the text file. This (for me) happened because Microsoft Access export function stops at the end of the last line of data, and does not add a carriage return. All I had to do was scroll down to the bottom of the data file (60 thousand rows), and press Enter! Hopefully, your problem might be this simple. Andrew Young
