I would not recommend dropping stats just for loading unless some thing really massy happening.... It is always recommended to keep your stats
up-to date and most of the cases people collect stats after the load within your batch. If you refresh any table that is being added or changed
then collecting stats actually helps is telling the parser details about the data demographics. My rule of thumb is to collect stats on Indices,
on your Where clause in your SQL, any JI. I am sure you will hear a broad discussion on Stats from this forum and if you are interested , I will
recommend to go over "Teradata Query Optimization" from Partners by the CTO, Teradata. This will tell you all the nuts and bolts that you may
find it helpful.
