Hi, Yes, there is a running anti-virus software on my computer. I disabled the software just now; but this did nothing to the problem. I think it is not caused by the anti-virus; because the teradata worked well before with the anti-virus running, and the same version teradata run well on my workmates' windows, whose setting are almost the same. The following information may be useful for you to diagnose the problem. The service of Teradata Database Initiator (recond) can be started manully, but it stops serveral seconds later. The Database Windows displays the following message: "Connection failed. Connect() failed: Windows error 10061: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it." An error event is found through the event viewer with a description: "PDE Critical daemon recond no service file defined for pderecond1 port: WSAGetLastError(): 11004 " Another cue: Some problems with the same error messages are found by google searching, which seem no relation to teradata. Somebody says the error message means that either the server or proxy isn't listening on that address and port, or there is a firewall on the way preventing you to access that server or proxy.
