Subj:   What is LIBPM

From:   Techow, Ric

I've just started to get some exposure to Teradata - specifically MLOADS in a mainframe environment. The objective task is to get some improved performance both in elapsed time and CPU.

One of the tools to do this is Strobe which is a CPU profiling tool. That is it tells you what programs are using what percentage of the CPU.

What I have noticed is that modules LIBPM figure reasonably highly in MLOADS which don't have an INMOD. MLOADS with an INMOD don't show LIBPM at all.

I've looked up LIBPM on the web and there seems to several different products or services called LIBPM but all of them seem to pertain to unix environments.

Does anybody know what LIBPM is and why it might might figure in MLOADS without INMODS?
