Your point is well taken, although I might have said it in a slightly different manner, "Let the business drive the requirements (need), and let IT drive the solution (application)." If it is the other way around (and it is more common than you might think!) it becomes the 'tail wagging the dog' [or technology just for technology's sake]:)
