Subj: | | View column data type |
|
From: | | Mike Felts |
I'm having an issue getting MicroStrategy to correctly identify data types for view columns. I've not had this issue in previous cases with
MicroStrategy. It appears that MicroStrategy is using dbc.columns to get the datatypes, but (to my knowledge) the ColumnType, ColumnLength, etc.
are not populated for views in this view. I'd like to think that MSTR is getting this information from somewhere else possibly, but don't know
where currently.
This brings me to my actual question :-) Where does SQL Assistant (or Queryman depending on the release) get the datatypes that it assigns to
columns in views? When I open the explorer tree and go to a view and look at the columns, it has the actual datatype of the view columns. Where
does it get that info since it's not in dbc.columns?
Thanks,
Mike
