Subj:   Re: MultiLoad from Informatica

From:   DOWNEYJ

I had a friend send me a 'heads up' note that might help you. I have not had the chance to test this out in my environment:

We have learned something the hard way with Informatica and Multiload. If you plan on loading data from Informatica via a pipe and Multiload, you will need to set the Multiload Checkpoint setting to either 0 or higher than the number of rows than you ever expect to get. If your Multiload job goes down, when you try to restart it, you will get a strange error which really means that it can't find the restart position in the file - which, of course, it can't since the file is gone since the pipe is gone. The only way we could recover when this happened was to drop and recreate the table. Not an option when you have a populated table.
