Does anyone know if there are plans to implement the ANSI SIMILAR predicate in Teradata? This is like LIKE (which is similar to SIMILAR) but uses Unix-style regular expressions.

It might be possible to do this in a UDF, but compiling the regex every time would be a horrible performance drag.
