Apparently the comment really applied to SQL Assistant rather than to ODBC based apps in general. This posting does anyway. To be more accurate... Numeric data retreived using SQL Assistant is limited to 15 digits of accuracy unless you set the switch mentioned. (In which case the data is returned as a character string and can have the full 18 digits of accuracy. Or more, with some database vendors.) Data that is Imported will be passed to Teradata as a character string and the DBS will convert it ... so I think you should be able to use up to 18 digits without any problems. Data that is simply entered as part of an Insert statement will be transmitted to the DBS as part of the statement ... and I would again expect the DBS to be able to handle up to 18 digits.
