Subj:   Beta program: tdexport

From:   Geoffrey Rommel

I am seeking beta testers for a program I have written called 'tdexport' (Teradata Delimited Export). This is a Unix program that will read any SELECT statement (or any statement that returns data) and convert the results to text with delimiters of your choice, such as pipes or commas. No special SQL is needed to concatenate fields, to remove binary lengths, or to force variable fields to fixed-length. The output can be in ASCII or UTF-8 form.

You must have a Teradata server (naturally) and a Solaris or MP-RAS server on which the Teradata PP2 run-time library is installed.

tdexport runs only on Solaris or MP-RAS. The beta version of the program will be offered as object code only. Unfortunately, I cannot build the program on other platforms, such as Linux, Windows, or AIX. If you would like to offer your platform for building and testing, e-mail me directly for further arrangements.

This beta program is free of charge and open to all members of the TDATA-L Forum. It will run through Nov. 1, after which time I intend to offer the program commercially.

To get a copy of the program and terms, please write directly to nazconsult [at] sbcglobal [dot] net. Specify Solaris or MP-RAS. Thanks.
