| From the symptom you describe, it sounds like the sessions established from the mainframe BTEQ getting the truncation error is running in
ANSI mode. When you look in your output, following the LOGON SUCCESSFUL there is a line telling which MODE is being used. ANSI mode says,
"Thou shalt not TRUNCATE" Therefore, the first occurance of data in a column that is greater than 10 characters will fail when running in ANSI
mode. There may be something in the TDP program that requests ANSI as the default. | |
Try putting this before your logon:
.SET SESSION TRANSACTION BTET
BTET is an abbrevation for Begin Transaction / End Transaction and in this context means, Teradata Mode.
