Subj:   Admin Comment: Changes to the TeradataForum

From:   John Hall

It's been long threatened and the time has come to finally drop the other shoe.

Several years ago, the TeradataForum was split into two Lists and I'm finally ready to consolidate them into a single List. From your point of view, I think that the changes should be relatively minor. The biggest change is a new address for making posts.

A new Welcome Letter has been prepared and will be sent when you have been moved to the consolidated List.

In addition, there will only be a single version of the Digest (I'm eliminating the HTML version). The new Digest is in plain-text, significantly cleaned-up and much easier to read.

I'm eliminating the LSoft server and so there will be a new sign-up page on the TeradataForum web site. For those of you who might have the need, you can use the sign-up page to unsubscribe. You can also use it to switch between Regular Posts or the Digest.

Some of you have had problems sending notes to the 'worldnet.att.net' addresses. The new addresses will eliminate that problem.

The majority of the changes should take affect by Monday/Tuesday morning (EDT).

Additional changes will probably continue through Wednesday. After Wednesday, if you haven't received the new Welcome Letter or have stopped receiving posts, please contact me.

The 'worldnet.att.net' addresses will continue to function for awhile, but please try to move to the new addresses starting Monday.

For those of you using email rules: I'm going to change the Subject Tag from '[TDATA:]' to '[TDATA-L]'.

I think that things should go smoothly, but if not, then thank you for your patience. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you experience problems.
