Just to follow up folks with the final word from the GSC, the maximum number of numeric characters that can be SENT to a decimal or float data
type is 20. Teradata will round as needed on 20 or less characters, but 21 or more characters will cause error 2679. This is obviously a
different issue than how large or small a value can be stored, which is well known. I have asked them to update the Teradata documentation with
this limit.
