The intent of the Rules was to prevent, prohibit and block people from using the TeradataForum to promote, recommend, market or suggest the use
of products/services. I think that the written rules already make that clear. If the rules aren't clear enough, then what wording should I
use?
Making the TeradataForum available for making limited announcements is not to be taken as a recommendation for those products/services. Rather
than recommending a product/service, I see things like conference calls and acting as a beta tester as learning opportunities and as a way for
TeradataForum members to assert their opinions and abilities within the industry.
My feeling is that if a vendor has an interest in improving their product and they are looking for testers AND willing to open-up that process
to all people who are interested (rather than the privileged few), then I want to be able to give them a channel to communicate that
opportunity.
That's my point of view and I could be wrong, so if enough people let me know that they object to announcements (please write to me directly
and don't use the List), then I'll be glad to drop future announcements.
