When I add a -1 as you did, to the substring in order to back out the comma, it throws an error in Teradata.

     Code = 2663.
     2663:  SUBSTR: string subscript out of bounds in tl_116870_v4.ADDRESS_Z.

Apparently the Position function cannot be used with a -1 in a substring?
