We do 1-1 inserts from a staging table.
I guess it takes some clever Teradata folks to avoid slower inserts/loads. But this technique only makes sense for huge tables, where the
number of inserts is very smal compared to the number of rows in the table. Using PPI where loads are only done in 1 or a few partitions also
helps speed up the inserts.
