Subj:   Re: Moving huge data from UDB to Teradata

From:   OHara, Daniel

Hi,

One thing to consider is network bandwidth. An ELT tool and the Teradata utilities for that mater will not compress the data as they load it across the network. If you have network restriction e.g. moving between sites with narrow pipe you can get very extended load times. In this case you would be better unloading it from UDB, possibly using a fast tool, then compressing it, transferring it with FTP and loading it into Teradata.

If this is not your situation sorry to have wasted your time.
