Hello all,

Will there be a problem if we have too many empty partitions in a PPI table. We are planning to partition a table based on date. We are planning to have partitions for very broad range of dates to avoid maintenance. There are chances of having empty paritions for previous years as data gets purged.

Most of the time users go by date. Will there be any degradation in performance especially if there is no condition on partition column and all rows scan has to be performed. Have any one heard of any problems?
