Looks like the root cause is a network problem (java.net.SocketException: Connection rest).
I would guess that the SQLException is caused because the JDBC driver isn't handling the SocketException terribly well.
Another possibility is that the version of JDBC is not certified for use with that version of Teradata. You should probably check the
documentation. I think you will find the info you need in the product release definition. Check both the Teradata release definition and the
JDBC release definition (in case one is newer than the other).
