All What sort of "best practice" do you use for setting the freespacepercent values on your system? The current setup in our environment under the DBS Control Settings is FreespacePercent = 0% (the default). Every 2 weeks a packdisk operation is performed by our Operations team. The Packdisk command run is....Packdisk FSP = 15. My understanding was that the value established on the DBS Control Record should be accepted assuming that it is acceptably defined. Therefore I'd understand that it would be better to maintain the FSP within the dbccontrol settings rather than the Packdisk operation (which would then use the setting within the control record) Would there be any differance as to how cylinders are managed using the 2 different approaches or does our current appraoch effectivlely do the same as the sugguestion? and what sort of approach is used in other environments. Regards Michael Bach,
