The numbers are typically just assigned sequentially. I haven't seen any relationship between them.
The spool is just multiple work areas that get removed at the end of the operations.
No you can't look at them. If you need to look at intermediate results consider recoding your query and use volitile tables. You can run your
query under Teradata Assistant and look at named Volatile tables.
