Yes I'm using this from past 6 months ...I cannot say its 100 % useful but it will give you enough information for missing stats . It recommends you to collect too many stats ...If you are tables are huge ,COLLECT STATS might run for long time ..So its better to switch to SAMPLE STATS . DR86230 implemented a diagnostic to get a statistics recommendation by optimizer at query level. With this new feature, we can easily find the missing stats. DR86230 is available at the following version and higher. - PTDBMS.05.00.02.30 It works like this ; BTEQ -- Enter your DBC/SQL request or BTEQ command: diagnostic helpstats on for session; explain Select * from ..... ; Thanks, Srini
