<-- Anonymously Posted: Tuesday, March 22, 2005 11:50 --> Hi, We have few reference tables in teradata, which users can update, whenever required. Until now, we had been doing this through use of macros for which users had the access to execute. We have a requirement to make this with GUI front-end (java based). We need to keep the log/details of who updated what and when. Need your valuable suggestions on how best this can be done. As of now, we can think of following options: a) Defining one teradata userid for the whole application, which will have update access to the database. User id which is used to update the database will be logged in a separate table for audit trail b) Letting individual user ids to have update access to the database and the usage will be logged in a separate table for audit trail c) Create macros for updates, and let individual user ids to have exec access to the macros and the usage will be logged in a separate table for audit trail. d) any more please.. Thanks and Regards
