Keep in mind that V2R5.1 is a patch release and has no new real features and creatures. Something like that is bound to be more stable then
R6. You really have to weigh your risk factors and deadlines before you make a decision. Do you have a strong deadline for coding, testing,
implementing this warehouse ... if so 5.1 would be safer... if not then does R6 have more features and creatures that could benefit your
applications.
Upgrading to R6 with existing mature applications that exploit and twist Teradata is alot harder then developing a new application on R6. You
have options for recoding or changing your approach with a new app. You don't have as many bad habits and old crappy code that would have to be
rewritten or reworked with an upgrade.
