If the delete is as basic as you stated with:

no joins (sub queries included) or PI value restriction


I would use the MLOAD Delete option of Multiload.

It doesn't require input of any data just an SQL with the restriction on some column to qualify the delete. It does not require a journal or a commit, since Multiload keeps a logtable of where it left off. It is restartable and very, very fast.

It supports basic SQL except above restrictions.
