I had today a similar experiance submitting an EXPLAIN for an Select with locking row for access.
PMON showed me that this session was blocked from an create index statement on one of the tables which was addressed in the query - which
surprised me, as I didn't expect it.
I thought parsing an SQL will not blocked from ongoing activity - can someone explain this?
