I recall recent discussion around the differences between Channel and Lan attached mainframes.

Does anyone have any kind of performance benchmark between the two?

Assuming channel attached is still faster, any idea of what order of magnitude? I realize that the installed network has a huge impact on this comparison, so any information relating to the network would help level set the benchmark.
