To become a SQL guru you need to do the following: Write SQL on a regular basis. Have a system to work with. Work on projects that test your skill level. Challenge yourself and ask questions. Get a mentor. Send challenges out to the forum, we love challenges. Focus on ANSI SQL and then work on the specific DB related SQL. Like any guru, you become one without knowing it. You work on tasks that take you to the next level and then you begin helping others. If you learn something and then teach someone what you have learned, you will then know something. How do you become a SQL guru, Keep showing up! There are plenty of books on SQL. Check out Amazon for books on the subject. Welcome to the club... Chris Coffing
