We're going through the same learning process and this one stumpted us for awhile! We wanted to see the dashboard both on a client and on the server. On the server, we connected to the "server" localhost (in the server identity block put in the string localhost) and on the client put in the IP address or DNS name of the server. This is not obvious at all for the server side but works perfectly well! You still get the data from the RDBMS and the dashboard feature works on the server!
