While as in most things in life it depends, my experience has generally been that macros seem to run more efficiently. That may be
something of a self fulfilling prophesy since macros are by their nature limited in what can be done in them when compared to stored
procedures. Still, while I have not attempted to re-validate this of late, my early experience was that given a macro and a stored
procedure that were functionally equivalent, the macro generally ran faster when it was used with any sort of volume......
