Hi David,
I must admit that I haven't done any testing on this recently, but I'd have thought that only adding 20,000 rows to "tens of millions"
would definitely be a case for leaving the SI's in place. Even if running on a small system (20 amps or less) then you're only inserting
1,000 rows per amp - I've alays treated this sort of volume as trivial, in which case I just 'do it' (don't bother with any fancy
tricks).
