Subj:   Re: How to use TD Manager Trends

From:   Dempsey, Mike

Before you can use the Trends tools in Teradata Manager 6.0 you will need to configure the Teradata Manager service to collect the data that you want to trend.

You do this by starting Teradata Manager on the 'server' system (PC) and using the 'Administrate, Teradata Manager' menu.

First use the 'Systems' tab to specify which Teradata systems you want the service to monitor... and to Enable the monitoring. You can optionally create Profiles for your different user groups to restrict which features they can access. (Use the 'Profiles' tab to do this.) If you created Profiles you will need to use the 'Authorization' tab to specify which users can use these profiles. Finally, use the 'Data Collection' tab to specify what types of Trend data you want to collect (the check boxes), and how long the data should be retained. (Use the 'Configure' button.)

Once you have the data collected you can use the various sub-menus on the 'Analyse, Trends' menu to generate reports or graphs from this data. (You will have to fill in a 'Filters' dialog to specify the date range you are interested in, plus other information.)
