In the view...
REPLACE VIEW AS
LOCKING TABLE FOR ACCESS
LOCKING TABLE FOR ACCESS
LOCKING TABLE FOR ACCESS
SELECT ...
;
As long as "dirty" reads are acceptable this is the way around the read locks and what we use in all of our production implementations.
(Keeps user queries from interfering with ETL jobs.)
