Only the RELEASE MLOAD requires an exclusive lock. Out of habit many sites have a RELEASE MLOAD before every MultiLoad. I've
started suggesting to my clients that they remove these unless they are going to prohibit (abort) queries during their load window.
I'm a little surprised that the RELEASE MLOAD needs the exclusive lock even if there isn't a lock to release.
