Folks, there is a small correction to what I mentioned w.r.t the VARTEXT option. I should have phrased the reply saying "VARTEXT format option was never supported" instead of saying "the option was no longer supported"

There was a mistake in the documentation that happened to mention the support of VARTEXT option, which is corrected in the Teradata Tools and Utilities 6.1.1 Teradata Fastexport Reference manual.
