Why do you need to know the port numbers Teradata uses? Presumably you want to access the port directly to submit SQL, access Performance information. If so, I would advise not to do so. You will not know how to communicate with the database because you will not know the protocol. You would be much better off using CLI, ODBC or embedded SQL. There are manuals available that describe all of these and more. I don't know why you see 0% disk usage when using PMon, there could be any number of reasons specific to your site. Finally, the Peakxxx columns in dbc.allspace show the peak values that you have used. If you decrease something (eg. decrease your maxperm to a value lower than your peakperm) that does not change the fact that at some point you used peakxxx storage. For example if on day 1 you have max perm = 10GB and you fill your database up, your peak perm will be 10GB. If you then delete all your data and drop your database size to 5GB, that does not change the fact that the previous day you used 10GB. The same goes for peakspool and peaktemp as well. To reset the peak values you can run the macro dbc.clearpeakdisk. By default only dbc can run it, but "ordinary" users can be granted permission to run it by dbc if so desired. Dbc.clearpeakdisk will reset all peak values for all users. Hope this helps. Glenn Mc
