Subj:   Re: Query response mode

From:   Ruth Fenwick

are the queries coming back through ODBC? Are you at the appropriate (current) ODBC driver? Do you have the maximum response buffer set to at least 8192 in TD ODBC driver? (under options>advanced from within ODBC administration).

How many rows are you bringing back - are you sure it's reasonable?

Has it always been this way?

Have you (or NCR) double checked your LAN settings for the box.....usually factory settings for NCR are auto detect on the Teradata side and your local network guys have it set at 100. 'Somebody' should tell engineering that field experience shows autodetect doesn't perform.

My experience has been that it runs ALOT faster with it hard-coded at 100 instead of auto detect. It's p6_datarate in the iee file (5250's) and p3_daterate on the e1000 file on 5350's. p3_fullduplex needs to be 1 on 5250's and p6_fullduplex needs to be 1 on 5350's (assuming that your network is set up at 100 and full duplex - short answer that the two sides must match).
