Hi:
Thanks for your reply. each of the query has one outer join. The forst query has one more inner join, and the second query has one more
left outer join instead of the inner join. According to the theory, query with 2 outer join should take less time compared to a query with
one outer and one inner join. However, in practice, the query with 2 outer joins runs in 20 sec, and with one outer, and one inner join
runs out of spool after some time (245 sec). This is strange.
I also believe that the result sets are by chance same, and they may not be same all the time.
