Subj:   Changing DBC password

From:   Dimitrov, Boyan D.

I try to change the DBC password using the Teradata Administrator (Modify User) which produces this statement

MODIFY USER "DBC" AS
PASSWORD = pwdsample
ACCOUNT = ('DBC')
STARTUP = ''
DEFAULT DATABASE = "DBC"
FALLBACK
NO BEFORE JOURNAL
NO AFTER JOURNAL
COLLATION = HOST
DEFAULT CHARACTER SET LATIN
DATEFORM=INTEGERDATE
TIME ZONE=NULL

But I get the error: "The user does not have DROP USER access to database DBC"

So then I use the "Tools-->Grant/Revoke-->ObjectRights" GUI:

GRANT DROP USER ON "DBC" TO "DBC"

..but I get the error "The user does not have DROP USER WITH GRANT OPTION access to database DBC"

I thought DBC has every right in the DB being the highest in the hierarchy so I am perplexed as to why I need 'DROP USER' permission for DBC, and also, I need to find a way to change the DBC password.
