Hi, Someone wrote some very handy shell scripts a few years ago that would read oracle tables, create a reasonable facsimile table(s) on Teradata and then copy the data via files or named pipes. It worked pretty well as I recall. I am looking for something similar to copy Teradata tables across systems (e.g. Prod to Dev) via FastExport to Fastload on named pipes. I would rather not re-invent the wheel if someone has already done this. We could use ARC copy but we would like a bit more control (where clauses). I know there is Slurp n Slam - it is pretty good too but it doesn't support files over 2GB or named pipes (at least the latest version I am aware of). OLELoad can do this too but moving things through a Windows box on the site I am at (and the volumes) will be too slow. I suppose Teradata Warehouse Builder is designed to do this? Has anyone tried this out? Can you point to a sample? How well does it work? I am sure someone has written a script of some kind to do this (Perl?). I would greatly appreciate it if someone would be generous enough to share. Thanks, Bob Doss
