I cannot help you now except suggest some brutal SQL as you probably are aware. Or, for now, there probably is a way to bury the trig.
in a view and use that from a derived table.
However, IF you can wait until V2R5.1 comes out, a new feature called User Defined Functions will be the perfect answer. They will do
exactly as you require.
