I, too, have found far more bugs in Teradata than in, say, most IBM products. Still, the fundamental design is so superior to that
of other databases that I don't mind. Consider the things you don't have to do as a Teradata DBA: you don't have to manage and reorganize
tablespaces (as in DB2), or distribute data across partitions manually (as in Informix XPS), or give up after your application reaches 300GB
and the batch window is no longer big enough to do any maintenance (as in one of our Oracle applications). Ad majorem Teradatorum
