Hi all,

I am working on Java on line Application which use teradata as back end. We use stored procedures to do insertion and updating in database. For performance reason we store data in global temporary table and then do bulk insert or update at the end.

We are facing two problems locking and dead lock. Since we do bulk update there is noticeable lock period on table. This add's the waiting time for another user thus degrades the performance of second user.

In our application we have two opposite logic flooding from higher-level tables to the lower level tables. Second is roll up from lower level tables to higher-level tables. This scenario causes dead lock issue many times. We play with @ 2000 rows from single table. Can any one please guide me to overcome these issues.
