Thanks, Geoffrey. The loop does not finish prematurely anymore. Now I opened two connections and used one to SELECT and another to UPDATE. My idea was to use the SELECT to drive a loop and then an UPDATE to make certain corrections over the same data. And when I tried to do it, the script blocks. Probably it has to do with the fact that the same table is being accessed and the transaction type locks the table. Or maybe I should use a SELECT FOR UPDATE. I thought it would be a lot easier (as I already did with DBD::Oracle, DBD::ODBC, and DBD::Interbase). Many thanks. And sorry for not reading more carefully the documentation. The issue reported above is probably answered by the documentation as well. Best regards, Adriano. Adriano Rodrigues Ferreira
