Subj:   Re: Netezza vs Teradata

From:   Frank C. Martinez IV

Hi all (Sorry, couldn't leave out a bow to my wasted youth watching Laugh-In),

Well, I got interested and did a search. I found a white paper by Inmon (?!?!) at the following URL:

www.dw-institute.com...

and a short blurb in a magazine at:

www.baselinemag.com...

which were both very intriguing. Makes me want to sit behind a potted plant and watch the discussions going on in Dayton and Rancho Bernardo about Netezza. Their SPU (Snippet Processor Unit) sounds like the son of a smart AMP, back from the old days. Hey, I started on a 3600, guess I could do that. I spoke to a Java-ist I know (Java-oid?, Java-ite? Java-er?) I know, and he said it sounded really cool. Hmm, "May you live in interesting times."

Sock-it-to-me?

iv
