we use bo extensively and do manually define the join paths. unfortunately i am more familiar with bo than teradata so i am unfamiliar
with what RI is but we do work closely with both our business users and our dba's in doing these joins and creating views that only bo uses
which allow us to monitor bo-specific activity.
perhaps we are fortunate but keeping our id/pw's in sync with teradata has been simple as our bo id/pw's are sourced from the same system
and this allows us to manage the spool space accounts nicely.
